What is Forsaken Lands?
Enter a world shaped by war, ambition, and ancient darkness.
What is LARP?
LARP stands for Live Action Roleplay.
At Forsaken Lands, that means stepping into a living fantasy world and becoming your own character within it. For an entire weekend, hundreds of players gather together beneath banners, around campfires, across battlefields, and within ancient kingdoms to create immersive stories in real time.
Unlike a video game or tabletop RPG, there are no scripted protagonists or fixed outcomes. The world reacts to player choices, actions, victories, and failures.
Some players become knights, raiders, merchants, nobles, mystics, assassins, scholars, or wandering adventurers. Others simply arrive seeking coin, glory, knowledge, or survival.
You do not need prior experience, expensive equipment, or extensive rules knowledge to begin. The most important thing is enthusiasm, imagination, and a willingness to step into the world.
Forsaken Lands is about creating unforgettable stories together.

What is Forsaken Lands?
Forsaken Lands is a high fantasy live action roleplay game set in the world of Elendrakh: a land of proud nations, ancient powers, dangerous frontiers, political intrigue, monstrous threats, and forgotten mysteries.
Players become members of the Khaldras’ Elite Unit, an allied force drawn from across the nations. Some arrive as trained warriors. Others come as healers, crafters, scholars, diplomats, scouts, or those simply hoping to survive long enough to become something greater.
Beyond the safety of civilisation lies The Bleed: a shifting frontier of corruption, horror, and opportunity. Every event sends players into a living world where battles are fought, secrets are uncovered, alliances are tested, and choices have consequences.
Do I need experience?
No.
You do not need to have LARPed before. You just need to have read the rules before your first event (but we don’t expect you to know them all!), and you do not need expensive costume or equipment to begin. We have a welcoming Discord community where you can introduce yourself and many welcoming players who will help you get kitted out.
Forsaken Lands is designed so new players can arrive, learn as they go, and quickly find their place in the world. There will be other players, referees, crew, and Game Team members who can help guide you through your first event.
The most important things to bring are enthusiasm, respect for others, and a willingness to get involved.

How does an event work?
Forsaken Lands events usually take place over a weekend, 6pm Friday to 2pm Sunday.
You arrive on site, set up your sleeping area, get into costume, check in with the Game Team, and enter play when the event begins. From 7pm(ish) onward, the world becomes live.
During the weekend you might:
- Fight monsters or enemy forces
- Investigate strange events
- Join missions into dangerous territory
- Trade information, items, or favours
- Learn more about the world and its lore
- Heal, craft, scout, research, negotiate, or lead
- Make allies, rivals, and enemies
- Shape the outcome of the wider story
You are never expected to do everything. Some players throw themselves into combat. Some spend most of the weekend politicking and scheming. Some chase mysteries, politics, crafting, faith, trade, or personal character stories. All of these are valid ways to play and the Game Team will adapt the story based on your actiions.
What do I need to bring?
You will need suitable clothing and footwear for an outdoor weekend. Comfortable boots are strongly recommended, as you may be walking or standing for long periods. Bring warm layers, waterproofs, spare socks, and clothing you do not mind getting muddy.
You will also need camping equipment, such as a tent, sleeping bag, roll mat or camp bed, and anything else you need to stay warm and comfortable overnight. Some people prefer to leave site overnight and stay in a hotel or AirBnb, that’s absolutely fine.
Food, water, medication, toiletries, power bank, and any personal essentials are also important. LARP events can be tiring, so it is worth bringing more water, snacks, and warm clothing than you think you will need.
For costume, you do not need to be perfect straight away. A simple fantasy outfit is enough to start: plain trousers, boots, a tunic, shirt, cloak, belt, or other suitable layers. Avoid obvious modern logos or bright modern sportswear where possible, but do not worry if your first kit is simple. Most players build their costume over time.
The incredible LARP community that you are joining will be more than happy to let you borrow armour, weapons and costume.
